In the background of the engine picture on the eBay ad, it looks like a Rallye wheel was used as a place to roll up an extension cord.   I'd like to think there's a better home available for that wheel.

Whats a legit price for something like that ?  A friend has a late 60's - early '70's (I forget exact year) and says its worth about $15,000. I don't know if he was including the manifolds and carbs though.

Unless it matches your vin I just spend that money on a crate one and save lots of money.

You're at $14,000 to $16,000 for a crate motor that doesn't have exhaust manifolds or headers.
It comes with a single 4 barrel intake, no carb, and no exhaust headers/manifolds.

Crate motors aren't the best machined work engines. They're quick production using lower cost parts.
If you've never built a Hemi before and think you can do these cheap...you're in for a rude awakening!

A properly built Hemi; built to run will run you at least 20 grand plus. 3 grand just in shaker items alone.
Very easy to go up to 30 grand if you go aluminum heads, roller rocker, roller cam.

Obviously the worth is in matching the VIN to the car.

If someone gets the VIN we can at least see if the car has already been crushed.

The aluminium heads P5153779 cost less $1170 then the cast iron ones P4876855 $1450 I'd prefer cast iron.

He probably wansts $28k for that motor.  Probably an easy $10k to restore it.

$38k...only worth it if it's YOUR engine.

You can probably get a full tilt, all aluminum World block with dual EFI, roller cam, 572 from say, FHO for $30k.

All Hemi's that go roller lifters have to get the block notched for pushrod clearance or buy the Aruzza re configured block.
Notching the block for push rods is very time consuming work that would run alot of money.
