Do you have a voltmeter? If so check the positive side of the ignotion coil, should be power there when ignition is on.
If you dont have power there, first thing is to check the ballast resistor.

Confirm you have fuel.
Not sure what 'tested from the coil to the alternator and got no spark' means.
What kind of ignition do you have?
No spark with a stock ignition, would guess ballast resistor first.

Ballast resistor is bypassed in start position.  Put a test light on the 2 brown wires while cranking to check for voltage. Electronic ignition or points?  Pull cap, rotate engine till it is at a point where you can grasp the rotor and twist it back and forth to make a reluctor  tooth swing past the pickup's tooth. With ignition on, you should see tha spark with the coil wire on the alternator again.
My good electronic ignition boxes throw a 1/2" spark.

Depends if it is single or dual. We need to know what ign he has first.

I have electronic ignition. No points.I tested the coil to the distributor no spark is what I meant not the alternator. So the ballast resistor could be bad?I will check it out.

What kind of electronic ign. Is it the stock Mopar ign or aftermarket?

Tested the coil.I got 9.3 volts for a reading on the positive side.Is the voltage suppose to be higher or is that reading correct? If correct  does that mean the coil coulld be bad and needs to be replaced?Have no spark from coil to disributor

I  use a spare distributor and ecu to test with.  I jut plug the pickup in and spin it by hand.
Did rotate your rotor like I suggested?

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

It is the stock ignition.
Stock electronic (72-74) would be a dual ballast resistor. Did you get the 9.3vdc when you had the key in the start or run position? Each circuit uses a different resistor.
