rad. core support blacking and wheel wells

Hello All,
I was curious, is there a thread on the blackening of the radiator core support for a '70 Cuda? Does it get behind the headlamp buckets and suck? I am helping a friend restore his '70 Hemi Cuda and he's not too much into computers. Also, is there an application illustration for the undercoating treatment in the wheel wells ( front & rear ).

What kind of sheen on the black  would you use or was used by the factory? Like a gloss or a flat black or semi gloss? And do you guys paint that your self with a gun or a can or would you get that done at the body shop when they do the paint job?
I have also seen a few cars before where they blacked out the cowel.  what's up with that? That was not a factory thing right?

Best I know it is flat black, and a gun might be more "correct" in appearance than a bomb.  Although flats are pretty forgiving for streaks.   I may be wrong but I think the only cars that had blackened cowls were black cars, maybe blackened to continue hood stripe.

Here is a shot of my 70 Challenger R/T all original except for a scratch and shoot green paint job.

1970 E Bodies got the upper cowl blacked out as well.  I use a flat black spray bomb.

I remember an article in Mopar Action from the mid nineties.
The person shooting the blackout stood in a low part of the factory floor. The gun was pointing in an angle upwards. Maybe 45 deg.
If you stand level with the front the spray pattern will be different.
I shot mine while it was hanging in the rotisseries. Easy to get the angle.
