Speedhut pressure gauge
« on: October 09, 2016 - 10:07:05 PM »
I have all Speedhut gauges, no issues except for my oil psi gauge. It pegs to 100psi as soon as the engine starts. When I pull the wire out of the sender, the gauge drops to 0. The sender grounds to the block, so I pulled it and inspected, threads are clean and sender is not plugged with anything. I added a ground wire from the sender to sending unit and now it keeps jumping around between 80-100 but never gives me an accurate reading. I'm calling Speedhut tomorrow. Anyone have any similar issues? When I did an internet search I found a few with the same issue.

Sounds like a sender issue... Got a rheostat & an ohm meter?  How about an assortment of resistors?

Have you compared it to a mechanical gauge to verify?

Went through a bunch of testing with speedhut tech, gauge is bad. Have to send it back to have fixed. Great, brand new gauge and now it's going to delay me cruising for probably 2 weeks  :swear:

I had a bad oil pressure or temp gauge ( can't remember) and they had it back to me up here in Canada in 3 days I think it was. Service is really good!  :2thumbs:
