Evaporust is good stuff

I was looking for a way to quickly clean the rust scale off of the steering shaft from my 70 Challenger.   It was too long to fit in any of the containers I could use for dunking things in Evaporust, but there was a solution:  I ended up using a piece of 1 -1/2" PVC pipe with an end cap.   In went the shaft, followed by the Evaporust.   A couple of hours later, the shaft came out nice and clean.   That stuff is amazing.

What's in it? Most rust removers has acid in it, this does not it says, can't find any ingredients info on their website.

"Non-corrosive, non-flammable, non-toxic
Biodegradable, Contains no VOC's or HAP's
Contains no solvents, acids, bases or hazardous ingredients"

If fact today, some front end small parts.

After the part is clean to your desire, dip or wipe it off with Laquer Thinner.

Then paint it or ECS preservative.

Evaporust is a concentrated version so it does work pretty fast.
There are a few different ways to homebrew your own Evaporust.

They also say that once you clean off the evaporust treated area, cry and re coat in evaporust and let dry for protection, I've done this and the parts have not rusted

How much time elapsed and what type of parts?

I haven't been satisfied with ECS product and of rust re formation.

Some WWII MG flash hiders and its been about 18months now

I sand blasted my LCA's and was gonna weld reinfocement plats on them before paint, but it's been 2 weeks and I still have not done it, I know rust starts workiing on them right away, maybe I should dip them in something before I paint them...

I know it sounds crazy but these environmentally friendly rust removers are made from sugar. Yes, molasses will remove rust.  If yours is not removing it, it is because the solution is depleted, or there is grease on the part. It does work.
