there are some things that need a ls swap, but i feel that chally really needed stroker or blown 6.1 hemi, but everything else about has the neat wow factor **** going on it, it something different

There are any number of mods to this car that I don't agree with, but it all comes down to personal opinion so I don't rag about it too much. However, IMO, Mopars are popular enough with enough aftermarket support to keep engines family to family. Its not like they are an orphaned brand with no aftermarket support and new mills available out there like a Studebaker. Sure, the OEM tech is not as aftermarket friendly as the GM stuff, but it can still be adapted with a little bit of effort. Similar to late model GM stuff, late model mopar stuff is highly efficient and can make easy power. I can't say there is any defining reason to put LS power in a Challenger.

I have checked out the site of the garage that built this car, and they put LS into everything they build, even the two Mustangs they have, so I guess originality isn't their forte

So the Chubby engine blew? Wow, over the decades some things just never change. I appreciate all the nice work the owner PAID for but that car definitely isn't my deal.

I wouldn't turn down the chance to blow the LS on a race circuit. Sounds like the owner has enough coin to do what he wants. Wish it were me. Personally I would have went with a P7 and hired some North Carolina Mopar NASCAR guru to follow me around on the circuit with a truckload of spares, ..... if I had that much money. I little bit of research and he would have seen that a (real) race engine would have been the best fit in a RACE car. And that's what this car was built to do, race.

I agree with the shop, JCG http://www.jcgrestorationandcustoms.com/index.html# , was probably a huge influence on using the LS because that's what THEY are comfortable with.

I did get the owner to comment on the LS swap and he says it is so they can interchange engines between all their cars in case one grenades (sic).  They take anywhere from 1-4 cars to any event they play in, so having all the eletronics and power plants interchangeable keeps the spares they need to carry to a minimum.

I tend to agree with the principle, but, if your willing to sacrifice running one of your cars to keep others on track, maybe you're taking too many cars and not enough spares. Plus, its not like any of these pro-touring invitational events are a real competitive series where points matter to million dollar championships and television coverage.
