    Currently your dealing with the rear frame rails, hate to say it but you need to look at the front rails too....   Check the area on top of the rail just below the upper control areas... There is a pocket that traps moisture & salt... No worries it's not like the front suspension needs solid steel to bolt to....

    As much as I hate the technique Alan is right for now I'd patch the rails & drive the car.... get some enjoyment out of the car, left the paint age some so you don't feel so bad when it gets destroyed by chopping the car apart to fix it properly.....

    Sorry you got burned, trust me your not the first & won't be the last....

    I agree completely. I first got involved in the hobby because I could not find anyone who I would trust or afford to do the work. If you want something nice you have to make it yourself.

    Me things it's time to seek legal action against this crook. You said it was described as a frame-up restoration? I wouldn't put another dime into it. I'm sorry for you running into this a**.By the way was this car sold above 15,000.00? take care. :smokin: :clueless:

    Man, I don't even own the car and it makes Me sick to my stomach!
    Not for nothing but you could try this;
    - Get a sheet of 1/16" or 1/8" steel, make a cardboard template for the length of each frame rail on both side of each rail.
    - Temporally mount to frame rails to determine the width of the strip required at the bottom.
    - grind rails down to bare metal, spray weld primer on them and plug weld the sides on every 6".
    - Weld the strip on the bottom.
    - Undercoat, seal, paint as required.

    Hopefully you can get this fixed at a decent price, quick turn around and still be able to enjoy your car.

    Nice job  :thumbsup: Hope you end this job soon and you enjoy your car for years to come, before the big restoration. As for the 1974 cuda you ordered which was discontinued, that's some sad story...  :walkaway:

    I used some aircraft paint stripper. It took a few application and sme bad fumes but no fire threats.
