Raise the front Cuda 1-3 " for 8qrt oil pan.
« on: March 07, 2005 - 09:57:25 AM »
I have "fat" profile 8 qrt tub pan. What is the best wat to raise the front of the car up 1-3". The pan is so low at this point.. even 1 "+ would help. I'm in the same position as revere & don't want to change tires. I have 15" rims around. N50's on the rear & 195 60's on the front. Didn't like the look of 70's in the front.. & don't think 75's would even fit.

I haven't played around with the torsion bars.. so could someone explain to me the best way to correctly addust the heightof the front w/o new tires?? TIA

You should be able to get 1"+ just by cranking up the bars, as long as you're not right at the end of the adjuster bolts travel.

jackup the front end & lube the T bar adjusters & turn them clockwise, start with 4-5 turns , adjust as nessisary , this will alter the front end alignment slightly so you may need to realign the front wheels

CP's adivce to lube the adjuster bolts is well taken - if they haven't been touched for a while, those guys can be a bear, even with the suspension unloaded.

Floor jack, 3/4" socket and breaker bar and you're golden.
