challenger glove box knob/ lock
« on: April 12, 2015 - 09:49:20 PM »
Hello all

I have a question about the assembly that secures the glove box lid. I have the knob (long chrome piece you turn to open the glove box with the tumbler) and the key that goes with it. I need the housing that the tumbler goes through. Is that all I need? how does the tumbler attach to the housing? does anyone have one for sale? I need the "catch" part as well.

thanks!

The outer housing screws into the inner glove box door frame & then the lock slides through the door into the out lock housing . there is a retainer tab near the key head if you push it down & slide the key in the tab stays down then insert the lock into the housing & remove the key & the tab pops up holding the lock cyl in place , to remove it again the cylinder needs to be in the locked position use a paper clip or jewellers screwdriver to depress the retainer while sliding the key in & the cylinder can be removed again .

I was looking at that one. Just as soon as I buy one, I will find mine. That's usually the way it goes.
