What I'm thinking... I live in a country where Cudas or Challengers are no more than 5  :o (10 if you count 71 - 74 B-body Mopars which use the same console plate). So not a chance of finding someone to sell my automatic console plate or buying a manual one here. My budget is not a problem but I hate paying 110 $ for the shipping of the plate while with that, I could buy the hood insulation I need and the manual console woodgrain kit to get the fitment right for the cutting and the filling on the back side of the automatic plate. Anyway thinking about the work, the biggest problem with that would be the outer lip where the cuts would be visible and the curbed rectangular look of the manual would never be fabricated to match.

Your location does put a different spin on your quest. Hmmmm-- How about picking up a piece of sheet metal or even aluminum plate and working it to the same size/shape needed for your 4 speed. Get one of the repo decals or substitute some walnut colored contact vinyl. Not sure about the raised lip. This would be better than a feeble attempt to cut up the auto top plate. Then you could look at your leisure for a top plate you can live with. Good Luck!

Thanks a lot  This is much better than fabricating the existing plate
