aftermarket carb
« on: April 19, 2015 - 05:10:37 PM »
what's up fellas, i need some help in replacing my stock carb for my stock 318. What is a good choice for a direct drop in replacement? Do i need to upgrade the intake manifold? The current is a factory 2bl with stock intake manifold. 4bl or 2bl?  Thanks for the help fellas

I'm not aware of a direct bolt on aftermarket 2-barrel. If your new to carburetors I'd suggest you look into the Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel, they seem to be more user friendly.
Pick up a good intake & air cleaner, be prepared to have to work out the throttle connections & tranny kickdown. Nothing I've seen is a direct bolt on.

Hopefully someone here that's done the swap will chime in to help in the process.

318 do not respond well to upgrades , you need a small intake like the LD4B designed for the small port heads & I would recommend a Holly 570 Avenger or the awesome Holley 390 CFM 4 bbl
