WHEEL SPECS
« on: April 21, 2015 - 05:40:27 PM »
Guys,
I understand we want close to 4.5" back space for our rear wheels to fit properly.  It seems somewhere close to that will work +/-
my question is regarding offset. if A wheel is listed at say 6" BS and an offset of +44mm, do I take the 6"subtract 44mm (1.73") for an actual BS of 4.3"?  Am I thinking about this wrong?   :dunno: using this thinking you would add - offset to the BS number and get bigger BS?

Thanks.
John

BS is from the edge of the rim lip to the flange of the wheel that contacts the axle. Offset is measured in either plus or beg and is taken from the middle of the rim width, so a zero offset on a 10" rim will be 5 1/2". That is because typically a rim has a 1/2" of lip past the inside edge of the rim were the tire sits. So, a 10" rim with a plus 25mm offset will have a bs of 6.5"
