GCC that sounds like a nice car. I'm a little partial to gran coupes also. Have a 70 318 convertible with dy3 color, but auto on the column. Spoke to Galen Govier briefly at Englishtown and he said should just leave car alone instead of cloning. With the volume of clones out there it would be nice to see an original looking car.

I'm going to go to Carlisle/Chrysler and get my bearings before I buy...unless a bargain shows up sooner...which I doubt in this rarified world. What about repop parts?  I have been a customer of Year One (and Rick's First Generation) for years on Camaro stuff.  But the Year One website is a little sparse on Mopar stuff (I have requested their catalog)...they are located only about 30 minutes from Atlanta...been there many times.  They actually have several original first generation Camaros displayed on the premises, which is not only a real treat but comes in handy when you can just point to an odd part and say "I'm looking for that part right there." For example, can you get an elastomeric front bumper, a '70 AAR rear spoiler, rally dash frame/woodgrain/gauges, high quality seat recover kits, etc for Challenger/Cuda?  I'd prefer not to go repop, but I have done so on my other (Camaro) cars from time to time...when necessary or until the right NOS or used part shows up...but Mopar repop stuff (and even more so with the real stuff) does not appear to be as abundant as First Gen Camaro parts...which perhaps partly explains why Challenger/Cuda is in another class. The 35th anniversary of the AAR Cuda ought to bring out some cool cars at Carlisle this year...looking forward to it.

We live in Marietta!  71Cuda340 also lives here.  If you want to caravan up to Carlisle with us, we'll be leaving early Thursday morning (7/8/05, I believe).  We'll be trailoring our Challenger up there.

Maybe I'll trailer my '69 SS/RS Camaro Vert up there...just to be different. I'm sure I could get one or both of my sons (ages 17 and 12) to go...they love muscle cars but they need a fair amount of education since they spend more time with paintball and video games.  Please feel free to email or call my office:  rbriggs@tensarcorp.com or 404-214-5376 with your contact info.  Is there a group of Mopar folks in the Atlanta area?  I'm really itching to get a starter '70 or '71 Cuda!  My Camaro Carlisle experience tells me to get there early for the best possible vehicle purchase opportunity...although these Mopar prices are killing me!

I understand.  We are members of the North Georgia Mopar Club, however we've never been very active because our car has been in boxes for the past 4 years.  Here's their website  http://www.northgeorgiamoparclub.com/

BTW, did you happen to see in the "for sale" section the guy selling the 70 Grand Coupe?  http://www.cuda-challenger.com/smf/index.php?topic=10834.0  He didn't say how much, but that would be a good alternative to the unattainable 71.

OK.  I'll get my 17 year old son to post some pics.  I don't know much about computers.
