    Cheapy Fuel Pump

    Well, put this on my 496, with an 850 DP.  Pressure stays flat at about 5 psi.
    Also, add is wrong.  The outlet is 5/16, then it has the 1/2 inch flare.  I assume I would not make it through a full
    1/4 mile without running out of gas? When I went out, I only gave it about half throttle
    at times! What a pain! Gotta buy a better pump.  The 6 to 8 psi they advertise is bogus!

    Also, replaced my fuel pump rod. It measured about 5/100 in. shorter than the new one, due
    to normal wear, I suspect.

    so what is a good mechanical fuel pump for my car, that may 
    be around $100??

    How about the Carter CRT-M4862? 120 gph and 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 psi spec. $ 107.97. Might need a regulator though.

    oh ya, saw that one.  Would get it, but need to be cheap for a while. Saving up for heads for my LS1 Trans Am.

    no, got a real accurate electric 2 and 5/8 dia gauge inside car

    Got this email from Holley:

    Thanks for contacting Holley Performance Products. Volume is more important than pressure when selecting performance fuel pump. For example a 500 hp engine will need 85 gallons per hour. I hope this helps.
