is my starter bad
« on: May 24, 2015 - 02:42:29 PM »
I have a new battery new cables pretty much new everything electrical via painless wiring.  The starter is also new but was not wired tight upon initial install some sparking took place. All connections are tight.  When i turn it over it wines and clicks like it would if the battery were dead.  Any thoughts.  Am I on track thinking starter?

I had the same issue, turned out the plug on the Park/Neutral switch was loose on the auto trans. you can bypas test it at the starter relay by earthing the G terminal to a good earth and test crank it, the Trans switch simply provieds the earth for the starter relay to work, bad earth poor starter solenoid function.
