Does anyone know if there is any type of an actual gasket that goes between the hood and the scoop inserts?

Yes it's a one piece moulded plastic gasket. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-71-72-73-74-PLYMOUTH-CUDA-HOOD-SCOOP-GASKETS-/151659200903?hash=item234f97c187&vxp=mtr usually black as well.

I remeber the first time I heard a hood called that "Raisin Bran Hood".....I was like what..

then they said Two Scoop..

Mine were black, and they are hard to find. If I didn't have any, I wouldn't worry about it; I might install some tar paper or thin rubber "gaskets" around the pins.
