Thermostat Housing Swivel type
« on: May 28, 2015 - 08:34:16 PM »
I bought this swivel thermostat housing from summit and don't know what thermostat to buy.  The one I bought is the same size as the housing so the O ring will seal only one the t stat   not the water pump housing.
Anything smaller than the o ring size will fall into the water pump

What am I missing.   will the swivel fit on a Mopar aluminum water pump housing?
Any help will be appreciated.

what thermostat did you use?

The one I have appears too big.   If I install it  will seal on the O ring on the top of the thermostat but the bottom of the stat will be on the water pump with no seal.  Seems wrong to have to put a gasket there.

its for Chevy.  I used what looks to be the same one. I made up a new base and welded it  to suit my new rad.

I bought the same housing a couple of years ago hoping it would work. It looks good sitting on the shelf.
