Glad you found it! Yeah, those two plugs weren't white, they were brand new and looked like they hadn't fired at all, or at least not when there was fuel in the cylinder. As mentioned, the compression reading might indicate re-trying them wet- that is with a couple of squirts of oil in each cylinder and see where you get. The old rule of thumb used to be 10% of the highest cylinder's reading as a variation and you're there, now. It's noteworthy that the lowest one is also one of the non-firing ones and may raise the issue of fuel washing the cylinder enough to hurt the ring seal. It's certainly seeing enough fuel otherwise as the black, fouled plugs show. I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over the compression, as there's many an engine running with worse readings and yours are pretty decent, still.

Well, replaced the plugs and connected the wires in the CORRECT firing order.
Runs smoother and so far no popping. But that's just sitting in the shop.
This weekend will take her out for the real test.  :2thumbs:
But I'm pretty sure my results will (obviously) be better.

I admit. I overlooked a simple thing and feel pretty stupid about it. But a lesson learned.

Thanks again for everyone's input.

I know you'll be smiling this weekend when you get it on the road. You might start off easy on the throttle after converting from a six cylinder to a stump pulling V8 440! Ha Ha
