71 cuda fender bolts

all,

putting 71 340 yellow cuda back together, trying to make it as close to original as possible.

?when built were the front fender top edge mounting bolts attached after paint or installed and painted when fender was, should these heads be left black or gold or painted the color of the vehicle.

I like the look of painted bolt with the fender but is this factory correct?

 Fenders were on when painted so bolts are body color.

The bodies were basically all assembled before the car was painted.
