Red Line Dog Dish Caps on Steel Wheels !!!
« on: June 04, 2015 - 12:01:36 PM »
I got a set of 15x7 and 8 steel wheels from Summit for my Challenger. What's the trick to get the dog dish caps to stay on the wheels? The wheels are still black right out of the box. I did not spray them the body color yet. Thanks

Are they just a generic wheel or were they made for those caps?

They are the Wheel Vintiques O.E. steel wheels for Mopars.

No luck, once I get one on good it takes little to no effort and they pop right off. I remember reading somewhere about undercuting the nubs on the rim.I don't really want to do that, but if I have to I will.

well, I`m no expert on those wheels but when sold as O.E. steel wheels for mopar, cutting doesn`t seem right.

 :iagree:
Dutch is right.
Take it from an old tire guy who worked on a lot of those things back in the day,
If you don't have to angle them on to the "nubs" and give them a pretty hefty wack with the heel of your hand or preferably a rubber mallet
they aren't right. Once they are on they won't come off without prying them off the "nubs"
The correct tool had a rubber mallet on one side and a metal hook on the other side to pry them off.
Good luck.
