Tremic question.
« on: June 11, 2015 - 11:57:19 AM »
Hello all

I recently converted an auto challenger over to a 5 speed tremic from hurst. Everything seems great except the trans is leaking fuild out of here the shift rod enters the trans. (Right above the Drive shaft) There is a small rubber bushing that seals the end. Does any one know where i can a replacement? I Have put in a few calls to hurst already, ive been paying phone tag with the tech dept.

Thanks Rob

Go to ANY vendor that sells tremecs:  They will hook you up.   Even Keisler  ::)

Just to add in hear - Please check your fluid level.  It sounds like you may have a little to much.  2 3/4 quarts is all it takes.

By the way the seal number is  Hercules Hydraulics # MO5-15 x 24 x 7 TC

Thats what I was thinking, thats way higher than the level of the fill plug. Should never be fluid up there.   :dunno:

You are correct.  That seal is designed to run wet or dry.  I've never heard of a failure.

Keisler had a bad habit of machining through that area so you may have a hole in the housing too
