Recent 6.1L Hemi conversions????
« on: September 06, 2015 - 10:23:41 PM »
Has anyone done a recent conversion to a 3rd generation 6.1 Hemi in your 70 Cuda? I have read some old post on here but was curious if it's catching on enough and easier to do with up to date parts needed for the conversion? Also I would like to keep the Shaker Hood setup on it.

There are a few in the resto mod section , I think Schumaker has mounts or you can do the RMS which is not the route I would take though , TTI has headers < A number of members here are doing or have completed similar swaps

TTI has conversion mounts as well.

I'm mid-swap with a 5.7L, which is no different than the 6.1L. I'm not really sure how else to respond to the post, do you have any other questions? I have no idea on the shaker, but I'm sure someone has done it.

How was the swap? Anything major? What did you do for tach and speedometer?

So far nothing outside of what I expected. Tach will be an ECU output, but I'll probably just use a shift light. speedo with either be gps or my t56 magnum has a speed sensor and cable output. Not sure that it'd take to use a stock tach with the efi, certainly can be done though if there is a need.
