oil pressure -gauge question
« on: June 11, 2015 - 10:50:46 PM »
I'm in the middle of hooking up my new Speedhut gauges and the oil pressure gauge is not reading at all. I have an Autometer mechanical gauge hooked up on the passenger side pipe plug location and reads oil pressure just fine. My question is does the other side  ( pipe plug on drivers side) also hooks to oil pressure right? That's where I have the Speedhut sensor plumbed into. This is a 400 block.

It would be unlikely, but could the driver's side passage be plugged?
Power to oil gauge verified?
Double check wiring connections.
Correct sender for a gauge? Different one than for an oil pressure light that your standard dash came with.

I contacted Speedhut and they gave me a bunch of things to check. I'm not getting the 5Volts coming out of the gauge that I should. I'll double check my connections this afternoon but I'm pretty sure I'm good as the other gauges work fine. I'm leaning towards a defective gauge?  :dunno: Speedhut provides the sender and wiring harness.

Gauge was defective. I sent it back last Wednesday to Utah, it's supposed to be back here tomorrow.
