How do I read my fender tag?
« on: June 25, 2015 - 10:45:52 PM »
Not long ago I bought a fixer upper, Plymouths 1974 Barracuda.  I'd like to know what the fender tag codes represent.  Can someone help me understand the code on my fender tag?

I've uploaded some pics of my Barracuda on Photobucket, here's the link with pics:

It's getting a little elbow grease at the moment.

I can't seem to make out the color code or transmission code.  I tried a few different combinations and came up with nothing.

The car is in a shop so all I have for now are the pics on photobucket.

I just learned my car came with a white vinyl top and white seats.  I'm sure the original color was green.  I'm still undecided on the new color.

Transmission code appears to be D34 which is a std duty auto trans... AKA 904 TF

Paint code I believe is KG8 Deep Sherwood Green Iridescent    K indicates it's a new color for 74  G indicates it's green & 8 indicates it's a dark shade....

Ok thanks for the help, there's 2 more codes that won't show up.  So I don't know what they represent, the upper right last 2 codes: L2 & 634.

Those both are later model codes that Im not familiar with though I strongly suspect L2 refers to assembly line two...
