Can you identify where these wires go?

I am putting together a '72 Challenger Rallye for a friend and I have a pair of wires that were taped together almost the whole span. They are in a round grommet that goes through the firewall behind the brake pedal. I looked at a firewall picture on here that identifies what each hole in the firewall is for and these wires gor through the backup light hole. They are a green and a blue wire and both have plastic shielded female spade connectors on them. they extend about 16-18" into the engine bay. Here is a pic of them...



Any ideas where these wires are supposed to go? What they are supposed to attach to?

I would start on the other side of the firewall and see where they come from....that might give you a clue to their purpose

Yeah, I thought about that.

I looked at the wiring diagram in the service manual and it does not show a grommet with those two colors of wires going through the firewall.

I will look under the dash tonight to see if I can identify where they go.

I will agree with you if they are long enough to get to the other side of the engine.

Is the harness originally from an A/C car ?

Look like A/C wires to me. Blue one goes to the compressor, green one to the horn

They are no where near long enough to get to the other side of the engine let alone the front of the engine.

I have not had a chance to see where they go under the dash yet. Maybe tonight or tomorrow.

Maybe they're exiting the firewall in the wrong location...that's what's throwing you off ? Is it an A/C harness or car ?

Could go to your blower motor. mine is green. my horn wire is actually green with a red tracer.

I have looked under the dash. The wires are taped together by themselves and go up next to the main wire cluster behind the instrument cluster and then it is hard to tell where they go. I was trying to figure out a way to determine where they go but have not come up with a good solution yet.

Originally the car was not an A/C car. BUT the owner wanted A/C and had a donor car and had the firewall section welded in to make this an A/C car. I have new wiring harnesses for the engine bay and I already have the compressor and horn wires. Maybe the blue one is the blower motor wire?
