I pulled this 4 speed transmission from an original 1970 340 'Cuda back in the 80's.
It was wrecked and heading off to the junkyard.

I believe I have the bell housing and somewhere is the original pistol grip shifter.

It's been sitting in the garage ever since.

It turns freely, has light surface rust on the outside, I haven't had the side case off but I'm sure it will need gone through.

Not sure if I'm ready to sell it but I'm curious what are E body 4 speed transmissions selling for these days?

First, 18 splines bring much more $$$ but to answer your question: it depends.

You have a 23 spline which is much more abundant and most folks will want you to pull the cover off to see how the gears and synchros are.

Fully rebuilt 23 splines from Brewers is around 1500 bucks, used units can range from recently rebuilt 800-1000 bucks down to 250-500 for ones that have had some use and needs some attention.

Hope that helps,

Local dude had one for sale a few years back(working still in car) he was removing in favor of a Tremic... didn't include bell-housing but did shifter & wanted $1,800.
I thought that was steep & offered $1,200. Told him to to get back when he was ready to sell n never heard anything.. Guess he got more than my offer....
Not sure of the spline count but he was adamant on the phone of it's value
