Calendar Info Poll #1
« on: August 05, 2015 - 08:01:54 PM »
Looking to see what members want in the calendar. One thing that has come up is the notion of having some months set aside for projects, parts and similar shots. How many months should be set aside?

I don't think you need a "set" number of months but you could change it up a bit using "before" pictures or "members cars in barns" type thing or ''projects"...just so not every month is a shiny show car  :2cents:

If members will submit pictures of projects and stuff . . . If the members like, then they will vote for that picture.  Problem is most members thinks their project car is not good enough for the calendar  . . . . So they don't submit a photo  . . .   :dunno:

4C can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was somewhere in the 20s. The first year I did the calendar we were in the mid 40s. I'm trying to not take that personally  :pullinghair:

What about sales?  How many calendars were sold?  Did it increase or decrease . . . . Last year same?

It should be about the quality of the picture...not necessarily what the subject is. If it's a quality/artsy picture, it should be in the calendar. I don't think it should be limited.

It's not too difficult to take decent pictures of completed cars. Projects are a little more tricky I think. You need to get creative with angles and camera settings in order to get an interesting photo. I can't remember the members name right now but he's building a highly modified Pro Touring 70 Cuda. He has taken some really good pictures of that project. That's exactly what I'd like to see...

I won't submit any of mine this year as it's been in 2 years in a row. Time for someone else!

Burdar - I tend to agree with you...except that I'm concerned that a lot of people may just bypass project shots entirely. If that happens, I'm then concerned people would stop submitting them, which would put us back in the same boat. If we follow the trend over the last 5 yers, in 2-3 years we won't have enough submissions to make a calendar.

Brad - I applaud this thought. However, there are about a dozen people who have been doing the same thing, and that's one of the reasons we're not getting submissions.

I had hoped to get a pic of my '69 this year to put up for the calendar vote, but alas, it is in many pieces scattered all over 3 counties right now....    :roflsmiley:
