Just resonators, no mufflers ? Sound
« on: August 09, 2015 - 05:54:36 PM »
So the big blocks had resonators under rear seat, then pipes back to the mufflers , then tips. Anybody ever just eliminated the mufflers ? How did it sound. ? I have an e mail in to Accurate.

I've been eliminating the resonators and it sounds great. I never tried keeping the resonator and eliminating the muffler. I wonder

Since the resonators are 100% straight through and pretty small I'm gonna guess LOUD...

All the non stock aftermarket exhausts use mufflers under the seat and nothing by the gas tank.

I started up mine through just the resonators and it sounded like a top fuel dragster very loud but I liked it.

I just want a low rumble also, with no drone in the car while driving, mine was loud as hell in the car, I'm on my thrird set uf mufflers now, car had Magnaflow when I got it, changed to Flowmaster 50 series, still a drone, sounds good behind the car. I suspect the crappy headers and the fact that the system was stainless steel. Now I got rid of all that, have a new TTI X-pipe system, Dynomax mufflers and TTI shorty headers. Unfortunately I'm not gonna make it to get the car in driving condition this summer, (work...), so I'll hope for a good rumble next summer.
