Fliptop gas cap question, 70 Challenger
« on: August 02, 2015 - 08:11:00 PM »
Question, just installed the fliptop gas cap on my 70 Challenger. The outer trim ring seems very loose. Is there supposed to be a gasket or grommet behind the trim ring ?
You can physically see a small gap around the ring, it is also somewhat loose to the touch. Am I missing something here?

Hey, yeah mine was the same so if you look on the trim ring there are it think 4 tabs and I just bent them a little so when I tightened the screws up it put a little pressure on the ring and it holds it tight.

Hope this helps

What exactly did you do? My buddy talked with Ken Mosier from Finer Details and he told him to dab some clear silicone behind the ring.
