    Hey fellas, any reccomendations for a cheap (economical) dual exhaust for my 318 Chally? I have a stock setup at the moment. I don't fell like spending a lot of money until i do a complete frame off in the later future. Looking for 2.5 inch pipes.

    The least expensive mandrel bent system will probably be something from Summit Racing.  Accurate exhaust makes nice dual exhaust systems for the 318 but they aren't cheap.  The up side is that you can get all the factory style hangers to mount the system from Accurate.  A local muffler shop can bend you a system cheaper but exhaust work is becoming a lost art.  It's a lot harder to find someone that knows what they are doing.  The other down side is that the pipes won't be mandrel bent.  That's probably not a huge concern with a 318 car but it's worth mentioning.

    There are lots of articles on exhaust sizing and you are asking for a loooooong answer.  I would say, 2.25 is more than enough unless you have a 318 built for 400hp.  Unless you plan on the future of dropping a bigger motor.  Here is one simple article, but you can look up much more to satisfy your quest for an answer.

    Some “testing” has shown that having a larger exhaust system actual reduces horse power by scavenging back pressure from the exhaust valves.

    nothing to add here , smaller pipe = increased velocity , 2.25 is a better match for the smaller 318

    Thanks for the input fellas, ill ask around some of the muffler shops in San Diego to see about cost. I was eye balling the ones on Jegs or Summit.

    But they may have an option for a 318. 

    Install was straight forward and it fit pretty well.  Well, it was my first exhaust install, so can't compare. :)

    Just take a ride to the local shop and have them install something for you.... its cheap and you save on shipping.
