Woodward Dream Cruise Parking
« on: August 06, 2015 - 12:48:37 PM »
Here’s some info on parking for the Woodard Dream Cruise.  It’s in the Northeast corner/side of Woodward and 13 mile (Memorial Park).  Diametrically Opposed (Katty Corner) the Chrysler Display.  Give them a call for more info, they run it through the Royal Oak Parks System, even though they're located elsewhere.  I did get my items, window sticker, wrist bands, so it seemed legit.  I'll be there in my Mustang (sorry you had to see those words).

:angelwings:Your welcome I take it you make it out there then?  Did you see Dodge giving free Hellcat rides in the parking lot?  They didn't hold back that's for sure, pretty cool.  I wish I could of gotten da old lady in one of those things,  she would of been screaming her head off that's for sure.  Dodge really went all out this year.

I was too late for the parking so it was again to park my car. Ended up paying $20 on 13 mile  west of Woodward past the hospital.   Still worth it. The dodge booth was watching the billowing clouds of tire smoke over the tents as we walked up really started it off right. My wife and I went in both the hellcat and viper. My wife loved the viper(what's an extra $40,000)

Ya, I was there Friday and Saturday in the Stang.  Friday I parked behind a large trailer (Eagle 1) in the ball field area, so I got some shade later.  Got caught in a big rain storm about 6 miles from my house, and I live on gravel roads, so that didn't make me happy.  Saturday I spent the morning at Mustang Alley in Ferndale, and headed to the Memorial Park Car Show.  The guy at the entrance said "Well all I have left for you guys is the place on the left in the back by the big oak trees".  I'm thinking, Hey that's great!  So parked under a big oak tree all by myself and I was happy!  It was a scorcher Saturday.  Anyways, the food ticket they give you is about useless, because they were out of just about everything and the food that was left was terrible.  Avoid that Jackson 5 Star concession stand at All Costs!

Ah oh boy. I and their pulled pork sandwich. I'm definitely next year going to register a head. How is that ford area?  My wife loves the Mustangs yet we never seem to get down there, well we took the cuda down there Friday but everyone. Had closed up for the storm.

We had their Turkey Leg, if that's what it really was.  Tasted nasty, I couldn't finish it and I'll usually eat anything.  Mustang Alley is pretty cool,  a little more laid back.  I've never been there on Friday, but typically there's 500 to 600 Mustangs there on Saturday.  They block off and line up on 9-mile from Woodward to almost Hilton Road.  They also use the parking lots, Cobras in one and Bullitt's in the other, etc.  On the other side of Woodward they have it block off too, with a bunch of vendors.  Lots of restaurants along Woodward.  Big Islands between north and south bound Woodward, they let people BBQ on them and sit there and watch the cars, pretty cool.  Of course you're getting closer to 8-mile and Detroit, but I haven't seen or had any problems there.  The only downfall is it's away from the main epicenter of the cruise (13 mile).  But I go there in the morning and take the back roads (Hilton or others) to the 13-Mile area.  I hate driving in that traffic with a stick, I do that enough going to work.  BTW, I got a half way decent Mustang duffle bag, for my $20 entrance fee.

I think we are gonna try a little to go there next year. Plus my wife loves the valentine distillery.  The five stars reminds of a time I did security at the country music hoe down.  Everyone was eating deep fried fish and I saw the cooks getting their water out of the fountain.   The same fountain where people were jumping in when  it gets hot.

Yikes, that sounds scary!  Here's the link for Mustang Alley, you can check out the past photos for an idea on what it's like.
