2015 AWD police Charger

I see you guys are getting AWD Hemi Charger police cars is this AWD system going to be on the Challenger as well or can it be retrofitted? a Challenger with AWD Hemi power would be a very interesting vehicle. And to the bad guys good luck getting away from those new Charger police specials.

i seriously doubt it, AWD has been available on the charger, 300, and magnum since 2006 or 2007, so i'm sure there would have been talk about it by now.  As for retrofitting, who knows, seen crazier things happen! 

on a side note, i don't know about the rest of you guys, but in the parts of California that i frequent, the highway patrol is using new explorers, and out here in Nebraska, the chargers are being fazed out already in favor of the Taurus and the new Caprice police cars.

I didn't know you guys already had AWD Chargers they don't sell Chargers here we only get 300c, Journey and other people movers, late model Challengers go for about $90,000 because they have to convert them to RHD then the taxman wants his share. Ford and GM are going to stop making cars here soon and they will bring US cars over to replace them Ford is already advertising Mustangs on TV, I hope the build factory RHD Challengers and sell them at a reasonable price.

AWD was available on the V-6 Chargers, but they must be doing something different to get the AWD to work on a Hemi. That's awesome!

I actually talked to Ralph Gilles about this.

When they shortened the floor pan to make the Challenger.  They took out some of the original AWD structure that is normally on the AWD Charger and 300. 

And to put it back in, they would have to do another round of safety crash testing and such.  So they don't want to do it.

Not saying it is impossible.  Just not going to happen from teh factory.

At least you can still get a new Challenger I just hope they bring them to Australia at a normal price maybe when they stop making GM and Ford cars here things will change, you guy's are so lucky. This AWD Charger police car is only available with the Hemi it's not optional on the V6 and the front drive can be switched off sounds awesome.

We had two chargers....they were JUNK....both had the motors rebuilt 3 times...the front ends rebuilt at least 4 times each...both had under 80K...we have all wheel drive fords now....my boss will only buy the explorers now...more room easier to get in and out of all wheel drive and 300 horses......... Ive had 4 crown vics since 1997...over 500000 miles...only one motor and trans replaced the entire time....

We got some chargers, caprices, and taurases to test for a few months.......in the end we are getting Awd explorers. The Chargers were monsters. And the roomier than others. Our were set up piss poor from our mechanics. I did here the earlier chargers had some problems but not the later ones

Thee used to be a member here (Cooter) who claimed to have encountered faulty TPMSs causing drivetrain shutdown. Apparently these systems are even more sensitive than the Escape systems.
