Leaf spring finish
« on: August 30, 2015 - 10:04:28 PM »
Hey everyone I have researched this topic on various websites including this one and haven't found the answer.

So my question is what finish should leaf springs be? The car is a 70 Challenger six pack track pack car. I had the springs blasted 15 years ago and I don't remember what finish they had. I have just recently taken them apart and there appears to be black paint between the leafs but there isn't enough to definitely say they were black.

Problem is that some were left natural, some were sort of like a black phosphate and some were painted black. There's no definitive answer to what's correct for your car. You should reproduce what you have found, possibly black paint.

On my cars I do them in a really dark cast grey, looks nice. :D
