1970 T/A block - $3,500
« on: September 22, 2015 - 02:05:34 PM »
I have a rare 1970 Challenger 340 T/A Block for sale. These blocks were made for the 1970 Challenger T/a and AAR 'Cudas. Vin #303635. This particular one came out of a T/A according to my research. The block was used in racing back in the mid 70's and it was run as a 355 with a factory stroker crank. The block is only bored .005 over as that is all that was legally allowed at the time. Factory standard bore is 4.04 and this blocks cylinders are 4.045-4.046. You could hone this block to .010 and run it. No need to take it to .030.  The block is also O-ringed, which is another common modification by racers back in the day. These blocks are much stronger than other factory 340 blocks and are in high demand. When was the last time you saw one for sale? The price is firm, as I really don't need to sell it, but it is priced very fair. E-mail me your number if you are serious and I will get right back to you.  Price is $3,500 firm. contact me at efisixpack@yahoo.com

Have you tried to research to see if the Challenger T/A exists?  I would think the right thing to do is to marry the block to the car, plus you would probably get more money for it.

The car was last known in the 80's out of Iowa.  No more recent info than that has been found.

Did you check with the Hamtramck registry, or is that the result of your efforts? Barry has a pretty exhaustive listing of TA and AAR information, so if it exists anywhere, that's the most likely source.

I did check with Barry.  He's the one who gave me the info regarding Iowa.  That's all I have at this time. Who knows if the car is still in existence?

Update: IT's from an AAR not a T/A. Sorry.
