Thanks for the warm welcome!  I appreciate the site, lots of great info here.  I'm located in Manhattan, KS. 
Regarding the code questions, I wonder if M31 belt molding is the rocker panel attachment.  Looks like this car had them at one time
The L2 and 625 are the only codes on the second fender tag, other than the vin.  Somewhere I heard that L2 means end of codes.  No idea if 625 means anything.

Belt moulding is on top of the doors at the "belt line" :2cents:
