73 Cuda 340 4 Speed - Original Owner
« on: October 20, 2015 - 10:01:25 PM »
Hello All,

I was at a local show this past weekend and met a nice older gentleman who was the original owner of a 1973 True Survivor Cuda 340 - 4 Speed, 26,000 miles. He was not a mopar nut like most of us on this site, but a man who loved his Cuda, that Cuda. He had no idea what Carlisle was or the Nats in Ohio. All original black interior and original engine compartment, rally dash, brown exterior with a few shopping carriage or door dings. It was great asking him questions like how old was the car when he retired it as his daily driver? Did he realize there was a build sheet in the car? Did he realize he should put the original window sticker in a safer place than the trunk of the car? Did he realize he should not paint the car as he was eluding to because it was that nice? And did he realize one of his poly tires had dry rot....lol.... He had admiration for our restored cars, but as I told him his was the real deal and ours were just covered in fancy lipstick. I think we made his day by climbing under his car and going nuts over assembly marks and seam sealer showing on the rockers, but he did ours as well. So, we asked him what he thought it was worth and preempted our question with the statement we do not want to buy your car, but were more interested in educating him on what he had. So, before I tell you what he thought it was worth, I ask the educated members here on what a fair price is? I have a pic, but not with me. Again, interior is show quality, engine bay a little dirty and dusty, and just a few dings on the outside. Oh he did have the corner of his pass fender by the blinker painted in 1978, maybe a foot square....once I here your feedback I will tell you what he thought......

Let me start off by saying I would like to see pics, especially of the engine bay. I bet he said the car was worth $15k? To the right person (brown holds back the value), $25k to $30k??? 73 & 74 seem to cap out max value at $35k $40K and it has to be pretty special to get that price.

Sounds like a $25k car. Judging by the pics.
