318-340-383
« on: October 24, 2015 - 01:16:06 PM »
Question for everyone. I have a 318 now in my 73 Challenger. If you have seen my previous post on the Engine Combo sub bored, I had a plan to build it up. Well I'm not having any luck finding the 302 casting numbered heads, I know where there is a 340 (uncle) but idk if he will sell. I also know where a 383 2 bbl (71 year) is. Question is what would everyone suggest. I almost feel like I will be putting just as much money into building up my 318 as I would to get a 340. Also for people who say about a 383, what changes to the car would I need to make as far as suspension and such? Thanks for any and all help!

383 > different trans or at least a bell if its a man trans car. Then the related parts.  I would think a 360 be pretty easy to find.... just a thought. You can build up 400HP for relatively easy money :dunno:
