re-chrome Bumper swap
« on: August 08, 2005 - 10:19:08 AM »
Has anyone used the re-chrome service listed in Mopar Muscle mag ( Auto Medic Supply).   Price per bumber is 225 each/xchange 450 a pair shipping included back to you.
On the local side I got a price of 300 per bumper.
My front is in good shape but the rear has alot of surface rust.

the only thing u have 2 worry about is the exchange bumper is tweaked....the bumper boys are known 4 that...u give in a straight core and someone gives them a bent one as a core 2 b redone and u get that bad one.....if yours are straight i would chrome that one...

 :iagree: :iagree: :iagree:

If you are just having one redone, go the local route, that way you know you are getting the same unbent bumper back. Besides, the shipping costs won't be cheap either. I'm talking about your cost to ship to them.

auto-medic has 2 of my challenger bumpers right now.....I should be getting them back soon though.

When I dropped them off to them...they put an invoice number on my bumpers to make sure I got the same ones back. We will see how they look when I get them back.......

Anyone have any experience with the reproduction bumpers like Year One sells?  I'm going to use 72 brackets on my 73, so it looks like a need a 72 bumper.

I'm thinking of just getting new ones also. My front is in good shape but now I see a crack on the underside of the rear along with lots o rust.

I got my front one new from year one, great shape. The back bumper was on back order so I had mine rechromed. 8)
