Installing Line lock on rear brakes help
« on: June 11, 2016 - 09:27:19 PM »
I want to install my hurst roll control on the rear brakes as a stopper.  I've tried a couple different configurations but I keep getting it as a roll control, it will  hold pressure to my brakes with foot off pedal but I want it to stop pressure when my foot is on the pedal.

should work that way. it is just a valve that it is electrically activated. mounted in the rear line, activate the switch before applying pedal pressure. should close the valve keeping fluid from going to rear wheels.

I'm confused, what do you hope to achieve ? You want to turn it on to block off your rear brakes so that when you press on your brake pedal you only get front brakes ? Why?

Well that's what I thought, but that's NOT how line lock works. :nono:

You put it on the front brake line. You depress the brake pedal fully, press the link lock button and it holds pressure on the front brakes only....you let off the brake pedal and operate your clutch or whatever....the link lock holds the front brakes until you release the button. Do all the burn outs you desire !

Or if you install it in the rea line you can control the brakes with your foot while eliminating the rear brakes , this doesn't work very well with a 4 speed though !!

installed in the rear line works great as either a Line Lock for burn outs or a form of E Brake, pending how you plumb it and when you press and hold the button either before or after you press the brake pedal, as a Line Lock once applied you can then control forward motion of the car with the brakes for a rolling burnout or just sit still.
From memory when I installed mine plumbed per the instructions, if I pressed the button and then the pedal it would work as a rollcontrol E Brake. Ii just swapped the in/out lines and I now have a line lock for burnouts, press and hold the button, place foot on brake and hold, place shifter into 2nd, slam the gas pedal. Mine is auto but same thing works on a 4 sp, press teh button, drop the clutch, apply the brake pedal and smoke it up. I find it works better on the rear because when installed on the front as normal, your front brakes and line lock are either on or off, in the rear circuit, they can be on, off, midway, what ever way you like
