Clean first, then, to get smell out, put in a small closed space, like a garbage bag or something, with a bowl of concentrated vinegar in it, overnight, vinegar removes the smell.
:iagree: Vinegar is acid, it cleans almost everything, I have used it some times with success.

I didn't mean to put the belts IN the vinegar, just next to it. It removes odor. When my car smells like wet dog (because of my wet dogs) I put a bowl of vinegar in it overnight.

Just FYI Didn't know they had different types, not sure if it is any different from the household type. I think it's just a different sent?  :dunno:

Well, to tell the truth I did  :misbehaving:... Then I cleaned it with soap and water and painted it with Herb's Parts paint. Came out really nice and odorless...
