I have them. No issues so far but only about 100 miles on them. Several members here run them. I replaced the springs locks and retainers cuz the cam that will be going in is over .500 lift and 440 source said the installed springs are only good up to .500 lift. If you have a milder cam, I would still change the locks and retainers.  :2cents:

Every aftermarket head needs work to achieve it's advertised performance. It does not matter the price point. Lower price point stuff may need more money to get "right" (by my definition anyway). Stealths should have the springs, retainers, and locks replaced and the valve job corrected and improved. If the goal is max power and rpm, you may want to repace the valves with an improved brand. That being said, they look stock, have a more modern chamber, take all stock stuff, and in the cleaned up form will make a real improvement over anything factory iron for a little more than a good performance rebuild of any factory stuff. The last set I used was ported but is making over 540hp at the crank on a 496 with a smallish solid flat tappet.

I run them on my 520 stroker.  My builder was totally against me using them.  I told him these heads or nothing.  So when he got them, took the valves and retainers and springs and threw them away.  Ported, larger valves, stronger retainers, and springs to match my cam.  He said the aluminum was harder than he thought it would be.  He actually like them very much once they were cleaned up, and said he would build another motor with these.  My motor is making on the dyno 555hp and 640 torque.  No problems in my first 1000 miles.  I love the stock look.  But that was my goal.

I have them on my 440, mild cam.  I used the stock keepers, springs, etc.    I did allot of research on these heads,  I guess a few years back there might have been some sort of casting issues, but I have no personal experience with that.

Buying them really depends on how you drive/what you want in performance

I bought them for really the following reasons

1.  They are allot lighter than stock iron heads
2.  You wont have prob with coolant when your remove headers bolts
3.  Larger ports/valves than my stock heads.  They are not huge, but I dont drive hard in the upper rpm range anyways, so I didnt need huge valves
4.  All your OEM type mounts are present so you can bolt up all assescories
5.  Price

I really didnt notice any seat of the pants improvement.  (I was already running headers, and the new heads were the only change)
But I didnt expect any either.

To really get the most of how they come out of the box would be porting, and polishing couldnt hurt either.  Really, any head you get off the shelf needs some work anyways  to get the most out of them

These heads are beefy.  I didn't notice any shortcuts, and they are well made

I'd say they are the best bang for $$$, for a set of aluminum heads for the average driver that likes to get on it every now and then, with allot of further potential with a little additional work

Used them on two street builds, worked great. I guess it depends, on what your expectations are.

used them right out of the box. stay within the lift range. I used an extreme energy cam and I am completely satisfied.

I installed 440 Source heads four years and 4,000 miles ago and couldn't be happier.  I had them ported and gasket matched but stayed with the original springs and keepers because my cam does not exceed .500 lift and I never turn over 5500 RPM.  Great bang for the buck and I painted mine engine color so the look is completely stock.

Update: that 496 is now up to 480hp/482tq to the tires with the ported versions. Cam is .499/.513 after lash.

I used them... 1500 miles plus cam break in and no problems. My builder took them apart and went thru them. dont remember him changin much.
I'm using their locks, retainers and springs. Using the Comp Cam XE .500 lift . Also running the bullet proof stock rockers and shafts.
No regrets
