Melted ignition switch dash plug

I drove my challenger last week and noticed my dash gages all went to the lower end and my amp gauge was at the high end. I went straight home and noticed a smell of burnt wires. Here is the plug that I found has burnt on both ends so the wiring harness will be changed out and the ignition switch as it has melted to. Hope is all goes smooth and I have another wiring harness already to go soon as I find time to pull it all apart. Take a look at my plugs that got hot and melted.

The large red wire barrel connector overheating and melting is not a rare occurrence.
Glad you made it home. Also a little surprised you managed to get home with that. Voltage to the coil must have been getting pretty low!

This would be a good time to bypass the amp gauge and comvert to to volts.   :rebel:

X2 on that. Also check out your firewall bulkhead connections on the engine side. Put odds down you have more. Unfortunately this is a real weak point on these old Mopars.
