Wrinkles in vinyl top
« on: April 18, 2016 - 02:57:37 PM »
I purchased a vinyl top from Legendary for my 1970 Challenger.  I am waiting for the guy to have it put on, but I am not thinking that the puckering along the seams is going to stretch out.

Has anyone else's tops looked like this?

Mine is exactly the same and I had the same concern. I had my vinyl roof guy [40 years experience] come look at it and he told me that all wrinkles would come out as he stretched it on. He advised me that those wrinkles were 100% normal.

Won't be an issue if your guy knows what he's doing :2thumbs:

You would be all puckered up too if you were stuffed in a box for a while.      It will all be smooth when stretched over the top.

If you still have concerns. Send pictures of it to the installer for his assessment first.
Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.

Thanks guys, I have already sent the pictures to the installer, but have not heard back yet.  I am also pushing the car out into the sun to help get some of the wrinkles to relax.
