So Croatian??? I was guessing Serbian, but ok I think thats close. But I wont dare say the same. I've known some Serbians... sore subject at times.

the letters are just eroded or chipped away on the right ().  comes up a little different depending were you put spacing. i did get a few more letters by playing with the contrast of the original photo

Yep, languages are VERY similar! Sentence construction is different and some words, but when a Croatian and a Serbian are talking each in their own language they understand each other perfectly. During the time of Yugoslavia the language was even called Croatian-Serbian.
