Brad,

Why what?  All I am saying is that the stuff that I have seen of his work is not comparable to what the factory turned out.  If people are happy with his work and they are not going for that factory look, thats fine.  I have no problem with that.  Everyone has different expectations of how they want their car to be or turn out like.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe that I brought up his name initially.  I was only responding to it. :)

Brad,

Feel free to PM me to make sure we are on both the same page with your last comment.  I initially started this thread as it seemed like there was someone else who was either doing a 4 door car or came across something that had been done by someone else at a previous time.  I couldn't tell you the first thing about photoshopping or whatever that program is.  I don't own it, nor have I ever used it.  I wanted to share it with everyone in case someone else might have been interested in another build like that.

As for people bringing certain other peoples names into this, well, again, it was them who decided to drop names.  I did not initiate the conversation involving that party.  I am sure that he does decent work and that people are happy with the results.  His quality / workmanship, (again from what I see on pictures) is just not up to my standards.  Nothing more than personal preference.  I'm sure that people say that the work I do on restoring our cars is not up to their standards either, but then again, I am an amateur who does this as a hobby and for fun.  This isn't my full time job.

Its almost like ECS is back on CC, and I loved the quote from ECS from the other site, classic sarcastic/holier-than-thou crap that sparked the end of his membership here.  And it's pretty obvious from previous posts that Resq has some kind of bromance with ECS which is why he likes to pretend that Alan's work isn't up to snuff, because Alan and ECS didn't see eye to eye.  Take that crap outta here, Alan is a good member here, and there are literally hundreds of members who have seen his work in person and they ALL vouch for his work, so I'll take their opinions over "what you have seen in pictures"

Ok, I'll bite.... whats a "brimance" ?   :roflsmiley:

Again, if you go back and re-read what I said about his work...." I am sure that he does decent work and that people are happy with the results.  His quality / workmanship, (again from what I see on pictures) is just not up to my standards.  Nothing more than personal preference.  I'm sure that people say that the work I do on restoring our cars is not up to their standards either, but then again, I am an amateur who does this as a hobby and for fun.  This isn't my full time job."

There is a difference when it comes to replicating what the factory did and doing it any other way.  Some people like that kind of stuff.  Others, not so much.  This could be the reason why Alan and ECS do not see eye to eye on things.  Granted, I also have banged heads with people who claim that their stuff replicates the way the factory did it only to find out that the way they did stuff was contradictory of how the factory indeed did things.  Painting exhaust manifolds with engine overspray off the car and then bolting them up to the engine is one example that comes to mind.  You can not get the correct spray pattern where the manifolds would block the flow of paint onto the engine yet areas that would have little to no paint miraculously have paint there with enough to get a good coverage.

If you like Alan's work, by all means, feel free to use him.  Please, don't let my opinions discourage you.   However, the desired look I am going for with my cars, I will chose to do the work myself or someone who can achieve the desired results that I want.  As I said before, what I have "seen from pictures" posted on his own web site or by him on here or other forums do not represent that OE kind of look that is correct.  I wish him the best with his work and I am sure that people (like you and others) are happy with his work which is what counts in the end.

As for what ECS posts and who or what he might have issues with.... well I think he about summed it up over on this other site.

http://www.forebodiesonly.com/forum/showthread.php?10422-New-4-door-toy-for-my-brother-and-me-to-play-with-(ok-restore)/page2

Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but with stuff that is trying to reproduce factory characteristics, its either right or its wrong.  No matter how many different people try to rewrite history.

Now.... trying to get this back on topic.......

I don't get this - is this the spanish inquisition?

The guys putting together a 4 door Cuda cannot be doing something wrong from the factory since THE CAR NEVER EXISTED!!!

Wow this is getting a bit nuts.  :screwy:

Peace out.

Mods should probably lock this one down too, and take a look at some of the contributors.   :2cents:        :drama:

I guess if they asked Alan, they weren't looking for an OE style job.  :roflsmiley:

:dunno:  Seems that Dave wasn't in on the joke as he posted a reply over on the other site.    :dunno:

I just had this forwarded to me from another site. You got to love it when your project gets highjacked for a few fun & games. On the other forum, one of the deadbeat moderators referred to us as "pinheads". It's hilarious however that our "critic" asked another member to borrow some money to buy a collector car that someone had posted. Maybe if he spent more time being a "pinhead" than a big shot moderator, he could afford to live the good life. I guess employment at Taco Bell doesn't provide the same success as being a big shot mod on a car forum.

I'm also not affiliated with any of your friends by proxy....so please don't pretend to care how I've been, or if I'm doing well.
