Need help with my blower motor
« on: January 18, 2016 - 02:38:37 PM »
73 Cuda, A\C car. The blower only has one speed, real slow. I does not make any difference what position the fan switch is in. The blower comes on real slow when the key is on. I need help as to where to start looking.

Two places to look: the switch and the resistors.  The switch, depending on its position, puts current out in the brown, the green, or both wires. You can check that with an ohmmeter. The resistors are in the heater box where a T-shaped connector plugs in behind the glove box. I think there are two resistors in there. Check them and the connections between them.
If I were to guess, I'd bet on the switch.  If it is bad you can carefully remove the back and clean the contacts with some 600 grit paper and put it back together again.
Good luck.

I hope in the near future to start putting together a high speed blower motor relay kit that is close to plug and play.

Check all the connectors in that circuit, the electrical loads can cause them to melt.  Seen plenty of crispy blower motor wiring over the years.
