Lets play name that part again.
« on: January 03, 2016 - 06:14:35 PM »
Found these in my bucket of parts for my 70 Challenger. There was a faded piece of masking tape that said bumper. Never seen a bracket that looks like that before. Where do these go???

Hi Rich,

These are the brackets that hold the rubber inserts in place on each end of your bumper and the rubber inserts can be seen just below your headlight surrounds.  :2thumbs:

Thanks, that also answers the question of what holds those rubber inserts in!

I believe so....I've never seen them on a 1971.....I have two 70 Challenger's in here now, and even through they have been messed with or restored before....with their Feb 70 build dates I don't see any signs of these brackets... :dunno:

And only very early 70 Challengers... Most 70 Challengers had notches that locked the rubber fillers in place..

If this will help, here is a copy from the 1971 parts catalog for 1970-1971. The parts catalog is dated December, 1971.

I have a pair of 13-64-22 fillers for my 70 Challenger, but don't have those brackets.   Are you looking to sell these .... or does anyone have a pair of these brackets?   My rubber inserts don't have the notch mentioned above to hold them in place and therefore don't fit properly with simply pushing them on.   Other suggestions??

Thanks .....

Can't be too hard to bend up some flat bar/sheet metal? No? :dunno:

Do they attach to the outer front bolts of the bumper?? Or ....???    My car is in storage at the moment, so I can't go check on the actual car for potential location.    Thanks in advance ........ CHAPS
