Noisy clutch spring

I have a 1970 Plymouth Cuda, 340 pistol grip 4-speed. The clutch spring right above the clutch pedal (over-center spring) has been making noise like an old creaky witch. Tried putting all kinds of grease on it lithium grease, wd-40, etc still croaks like its in pain. happens every time I put the clutch in to engage an gear. Anybody know of a solution? All solutions are greatly appreciated.

Remove it.  Grease mounting points and reinstall. 
Doing it installed probably won't get the lube where it needs to go.

You can try a creeping oil like Kroil but most likely you will have to remove it to lube it.

I spryed some lithium grease at the contact areas, it helped. left for a couple of days, hopefully it soak in. If not it will have to come out. thought about using a spring compressor that's used on door springs on 65 gto. hopefully letting it soak for 2 days cured it.
