No Cash Prizes
« on: February 22, 2016 - 03:23:15 PM »
but I hope you can help me decipher this weird phone number?

Got a call Monday, Feb. 15, 2:34 pm

Did not answer because it looked strange. HERE IT IS -  (  1-134-211-3  )

Yeah, that is it. I tried to google it, says that area code does not exist. Says the number does not exist.
Area code search says that is not an area code?
I don't have messaging set up on my old phone (still says ALLTELL when I boot it up, lol)

I called the number back, and Verizon says it is dis-connected or no longer available. I dialed exactly as it is.

WTH? Anybody? Yet I recieved it, and it is stored on my phone exactly like that. WEIRD.
It rang 5-6 times, so no chance my phone didn't get the whole number, plus, it is an area code that "doesn't exist"
Anyone know what it could be?

The easiest way to find out who's calling from that number is to answer it :2cents:
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

I get calls like that on a weekly basis. Usually "This is your captain speaking" or "Call this number to prevent legal action being taken against you"  or " You are our grand prise winner"   I don't know the rest because I always hang up.  :icon16:
There must be a lot of stupid people around otherwise they wouldn't persist?

I kinda wish I would have. It's driving me goofy now. It's not a real number, that I can see - yet Verizon says it's no longer in service or dis-connected? It's very strange.

Just LOOK AT IT? WEIRD area code, and only 1 digit at the end, instead of 4? WTH? Is it some kind of "insider" phone company number?
Every google site that I visited says it's not a valid area code anywhere. HOW DID I GET IT? What is it?

The men in black will be knocking at my door any minute now, lol.

its an international number being routed through a US site. I do international sales and see this all the time. You cannot call back. My personal standpoint is that if it is legit they will leave a message or call back. If they did neither it is a telemarketer. Even they have outsourced....
