Proven 512 stroker build threads?
« on: June 19, 2016 - 08:52:43 PM »
Finally ready to build my motor, was looking in here for proven 440 to 512 (440 source) stroker builds but don't see any - am I missing something? Anybody have one they want to share?  Carb to pan

Thanks

Not sure what makes something a "proven" build, but I can share my parts list if interested? I haven't fired it up yet, but I am hoping to by the end of this summer.

Hey Murray!  Yeah, family just got here and we've moved into our new house.  So far so good.

Finally ready to finish the car and starting to build my order list.

Hope you're doing well?  How's your car?

Haha!  Moved to Fall River Nova Scotia, just outside Halifax.  Will miss not being close enough for moparfest!

Pretty excited that I can finally finish the car now... Will get my build thread up and going again.  Stay in touch man.

Well, by proven I mean a carb to pan combo that has worked well for others.  As this is my first build I don't want to recreate the wheel, learn from others.  Any info you can share is great - I'm knee deep in research right now.  Cheers

chryco , in your link above you have a post that says you used a deep windage tray from 440 source . I have almost an exact build that  I am doing now . when I bought the stroker kit  they said they did not have a w-tray for the factory pans ..  will the tray you used work with mods ? any real issues when you did it ? Thanks  :2thumbs:

we used a stud girdle on it so that lowered the windage tray a little  no clearance issues

I'm firing mine up within the next few weeks...I'll report back. My specs are somewhere in my build thread and in the engine section. Chrycho and many others provided a bunch of info that steered me in the right direction
